The Old Reader's Premium plan gives you 500 subscriptions and stores up to 1000 articles per feed for a year. With the free plan, you get a limit of 100 subscriptions.

Customize the view
The Old Reader has a clean, easy-to-use interface. However, there aren’t many customization options. You can choose between two views for your article lists and try the dark mode.
Inoreader has a reader mode, which is notably more polished and gives you broader flexibility in the form of five list views. Your favorite photography feeds will look best in Card view, while List view will provide scannability over your news folder. You can also try Column, Magazine & Expanded views. With Inoreader, you can choose between three color themes, lots of personalization options, and a custom CSS editor!
Featured collections
To find sources in The Old Reader, you must type a keyword or an exact URL in the search bar. You can then subscribe to a feed without the option to preview it first. There are no suggestions for topics or popular feeds to browse.
Inoreader offers a rich catalog of high-quality content. We update it regularly to ensure you get access to the most trusted sources. Explore popular topics, discover feeds, and see article previews. Check out how many people are subscribed to a source and how often it posts new articles. If you're interested, you can also choose to get feed suggestions.
Advanced search
In The Old Reader, you have limited search functionalities inside your feeds.
Inoreader offers advanced search functionalities. Our Free plan lets you search for feeds and articles within your subscriptions. Upgrade to our Pro tier to gain access to an extensive database of feeds, articles, Facebook pages, and Google News. Additionally, you can follow search queries and customize them as regular subscriptions.
Smart automation
The Old Reader offers no filters or automation tools in its plans.
Inoreader gives you many automation possibilities, making it power users’ favorite tool. You can set up entire workflows, such as sending push notifications and emails or marking articles as read when certain criteria are met, creating search queries, and getting them delivered to your newsfeed. You can also filter out or permit articles that match specific conditions set by you.
Save, share, and be social
With The Old Reader, you can email a story, share it on Facebook and Twitter, or comment internally. The free plan integrates with Pocket, and Instapaper is available in the paid subscription plan.

The Old Reader doesn't support apps for mobile devices.
