Build active reading habits

If you’ve made it this far, you’ve probably set up your account, followed your favorite sources, and organized your content neatly. Now it’s time to take the next step and unlock Inoreader’s full potential by building active reading habits that will keep you informed and ahead of the curve! Say goodbye to distractions, endless scrolling, and wasted time. With Inoreader, you can focus on what truly matters for your personal and professional growth.

Here are some tools to help you make active reading a daily habit:

Saved

Think of the Saved section in your tab bar as your personal library. It’s where all your articles for later reading, archived items, annotations, web pages, and tags come together in one convenient place. Found something interesting but don’t have time to read it right away? No problem – just save it for later by clicking the Save button while browsing a feed or folder or after opening an article.

Read later

Your saved items appear in the Read later section of Saved, complete with estimated reading times, progress tracking, and editable metadata. The Continue reading tab lets you pick up right where you left off, and optional email reminders help you stay on top of your reading list.

Archive

Keep your reading list clutter-free by moving finished articles to the Archive. From there, you can restore them to Read later, leave them archived forever, or remove them permanently. You can archive articles manually or use bulk operations (a Pro feature) to select and archive multiple items at once.

Web pages

Go beyond your feeds and save external web pages for future reading. Use the + Add web page button in Inoreader or the browser extension, available for both web and mobile apps.

Annotations & notes

Active reading is about capturing insights, and Inoreader makes that easy. Mark important phrases or paragraphs as you read by selecting the text and clicking the annotation button. You can add comments to specific selections or leave notes on entire articles using the Create note button. All annotations and notes are stored in the Saved section for quick access.

Highlighters

Speed up your reading with highlighters, which help you spot keywords or phrases at a glance. To create them, head to Automate in your tab bar, click Highlighters, and then Create highlighter. It’s an easy way to boost efficiency, especially when handling large volumes of content.

With these tools, you’re ready to master active reading and stay ahead with Inoreader. Want access to even more powerful features? Upgrade to Pro and unlock advanced tools like rules, filters, global search, monitoring feeds, and more!
